Aimé Leon Dore, the New York City-based fashion brand, has unveiled its latest collaboration with New Balance for the Spring 2023 collection. This time around, the two have come up with two new versions of the classic NB 550 sneakers, and they are covered in “Taupe” and “Brown” hairy suede.
What sets these new NB 550s apart is the use of fabric uppers instead of the traditional perforated leather, which is breathable textile that stays true to the 34-year-old design blueprint. The darker shades of the two new styles would be perfect for any Fall/Winter 2023 capsule, but Aimé Leon Dore has shown a love for darker footwear in the warmer months.
Co-branding lands on the tongue labels, sockliners, and spine, as well as on the shoeboxes. Meanwhile, the off-white finish of the sole units adds to the vintage appeal of the new NB 550s.
Overall, the latest collaboration between Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance updates a classic design with enough fresh elements to make them stand out.
