A Ma Maniére x Jordan Brand Collaboration: A Celebration of Black Identity and Unity

A Ma Maniére and Jordan Brand are set to make a powerful statement this November with the release of their collaborative Air Jordan 5. The much-anticipated sneakers will coincide with the premiere of "Still We Rise," a short film inspired by the profound words of James Baldwin and Maya Angelou.

The film's visuals and narrative pay homage to these literary giants while also celebrating the power and strength found in the diverse identities within the Black community. James Whitner, the visionary behind A Ma Maniére, emphasizes that Black identity is multifaceted, and the Black experience is rich in its diversity.

Whitner shares, “Our diversity is our strength, and we are unified in more ways than the world wants us to believe. This collaboration represents a culmination of our stories, inviting the world to join us in celebrating unity, culture, and the shared experience of being desired for our culture while persisting in the face of adversity – from dawn till dusk.”

Prepared in two different colorways — “Dawn” and “Dusk” — the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 5 employs a premium, fine suede upper, with overlaid accents providing a sense of regality and luxury. A Ma Maniére badging marks the tongue and outsole, a custom monogram replaces the shoe’s typical cage, and a custom, jacquard pattern liner calls to mind previous collaborations. A small capsule of apparel completes the collection, consisting of satin bombers, fine cotton anoraks, fleece hoodies, and more.
